Welcome to the submission workflow for the 11^thMARE People and the Sea conference. We are excited to receive your submission!

This will walk you through the submission workflow. This 7-step workflow can be found on the left-hand side of your screen. As you go through the workflow, you can return to previous steps to revise or withdraw your submission. To return to this guide, click on "New Submission" on the top left. You do not need to complete the workflow in one sitting; you can save and come back to it at any time before the submission deadline, January 31^st.

Step 1: Track
Here you will select the stream for which you are submitting.

Step 2: Format
Here you will indicate if you are submitting an individual or panel abstract. Individual submissions are abstracts that are not already linked to an organized panel submission. If your abstract is part of an organized panel submission, there is no need to submit it separately. It will be included as part of the panel submission.

Panel sessions are 2 hours long and may comprise up to 6 individual abstract presenters and a chair. We welcome both complete panel submissions (where all the speakers are already organized) and open panel submissions (where there is space to integrate relevant additional abstracts or presenters). MARE welcomes and encourages innovative and creative panel proposals that may include different presentation formats; some ideas for panel formats are available here.

Step 3: Title & Abstract
Here you will fill in one box for the title and another box for the abstract. The abstract box is limited to 300 words. If you are submitting a panel abstract, this is the title and abstract of the whole panel (not of the individual presentations in the panel). In step 6, you will be asked to upload a panel form with details of the individual abstracts that make up the panel.

Step 4: Authors
Here you will add in the author details and indicate if this is a student submission.

Step 5: Topics
This conference is not using topics. Please tick the box to continue through the workflow.

Step 6: For panels only
If you are submitting an individual abstract, please click done to go to the next step.

If you are submitting a panel abstract, this is where you will upload the completed panel form (available here). The panel form includes the details of the individual abstracts that make up the panel. In this step you will also indicate if the submission is for a complete panel or if the panel is open to consider additional relevant abstracts.

Step 7: For individual abstracts only
If you are submitting a panel abstract, please click done to go to the next step.

If you are submitting an individual abstract, this is where you will select the preferred format of your presentation. MARE welcomes innovative and creative presentation formats. If you wish to propose an alternative format for your individual presentation please contact info@marecentre.nl.

Shortly after submitting, you will receive a confirmation email shortly. We will get back to you after reviewing your submission or if any additional information is required.
